Catherine ‘Cathy’ L. Borders, 87, died February 11, 2024, at Good Samaritan Society-Hutchinson Village.  She was born September 21, 1936, in Anthony, KS, to Harry Delbert Seifert and Opal Iola (Bohnert) Seifert.

Cathy was a 1954 graduate of Hutchinson High School.  She was a member of the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, Gold Wing Touring Association, and Hutchinson Wesleyan Church.

Cathy enjoyed doing word search puzzles.  She was a homemaker and loved it when the family was together celebrating special occasions, such as birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays.  Cathy’s most important titles in her life were wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.

On August 20, 1954, she married Robert Gene Borders in Joplin, MT.  They shared over 54 years of marriage, prior to his death on June 1, 2009.

Cathy is survived by:  her children, Richard ‘Rick’ (Kim) Borders of Hutchinson, KS, Randall ‘Randy’ (Debbie) Borders of Overland Park, KS, Roger Borders of Nickerson, KS, Ronald ‘Ron’ Borders of Hutchinson, KS, and Robin Borders-Shultz of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Robert (Jamey) Borders, Melissa (John Dreasher) Borders, Michael (Stephanie) Borders, Kellie (Kellen) Schull, Heather (Robert Morse) Borders, Shawn (Rosa) Borders, Tarynn (Ryan) Haag, William Gates, and Anthony Shultz; great-grandchildren, Zelda Dreasher, Brent Dreasher, Razeal Borders, Kane Borders, Trebor Borders, Ryder Borders, Emelyn Borders, Kinslie Schull, Karsen Schull, Karlie Schull, and Ivan Borders; brother-in-law, Lawrence Korbel; step-brother, Homer Dunn; step-sister-in-law, Elsie Dunn; step-sisters, Leona Boddy and Pat Narron; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents; husband; sisters, Mary Adams and Nellie Korbel; brothers, Delbert Seifert, Stanley Seifert, and Elmer Seifert.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.  Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson, KS.
