Suzanne Paulette "Susie" Straight, 62 formerly of Hutchinson , passed away on August 13, 2026.
Susie was a loyal daughter, sister, and friend. She spent much of her working life in the hospitality industry and was known by those closest to her for her unique personality, sassiness, kindness and unwavering loyalty to the people she cared about.
For more than 30 years, Susie lived in Pratt, Kansas, with her mother & best friend Betty. She enjoyed playing pool, listening to music, and spending time with friends, family and her little dog Ruby.
Susie lived life on her own terms and was unapologetically herself. Those who knew her understood that she was a one-of-a-kind person, and that she cared deeply for those she considered family and friends.
Susie was preceded in death by her father, Tommy B. Straight; her stepmother, Betty M. Straight; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
She is survived by her mother, Betty G. Straight of Hutchinson, Ks; her brother, Thomas Straight & wife Michele of Wichita, Ks; her sister, Candy Etheridge & husband Darrell of Independence, Ks; her sister, Christy Dyer & husband Chris of Loganville, Ga; and her brother, Bryan Straight & wife Jennifer of Park City, Ks. She is also survived by many loving aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at the Rice Park Community Building in Hutchinson, Kansas. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate Susie's life.
She will be remembered for her individuality, her loyalty, and the lasting impact she made on those who knew and loved her.
