
Randy Floyd Smith, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 22, 2025 at his home in Wichita, Kansas.
He was born on August 27, 1955, in Hutchinson, Kansas, the son of Buford Duane and Ora Belle Smith. Randy graduated from high school in Haven, Kansas in 1973 and later served and retired after 20 years in the Army National Guard.
He had been a painter and fabricator for Collins’ Industries/ Mobile Tech in South Hutchinson & Yoder for 19 years. Early in the 2000’s Randy moved to Wichita and went to work for Wichita Tank Wash for over 20 years, where he enjoyed an honest day’s work for honest day’s pay.
When he was younger, he enjoyed playing Softball for many years at Fun valley. Through his entire life he was an avid sports fan for the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs and Kansas Jayhawks. Randy also enjoyed being outdoors, especially camping on the water at Cheney Lake. If he couldn’t be found outside, he could be found enjoying a game of billiards.
Survivors include his two sons Chris Smith and wife Samantha, and Randal Smith and wife Amy all of Hutchinson; nine grandchildren Brooklyn, Randal, Cadin, Daniel, Destin, Christopher II, Austin, Hunter & Brooklyn; and two great grandchildren Abrayah and Indigo all of Hutchinson.
