Buhler USD 313 dealing with COVID case increase

BUHLER, Kan. — Buhler USD 313 is trying to stem a rush of COVID cases.

The district on Friday announced that it is currently experiencing a high rate of positive COVID-19 cases in schools.

The district website and dashboard now has a new chart showing the daily numbers and absences by building. https://sites.google.com/usd313.org/buhlernavigatingnext/covid-surveillance-reports.

Teacher shortages continue to impact the district. On Friday, the district had 14 uncovered classrooms. Those shortages result in canceled bus routes, after school activities, and field trips.

The district said in a note to patrons that they anticipate a peak of positive cases coming in the next couple of weeks and are hopeful that it will then begin to decline. The note continued that there will be additional guidance coming soon for managing the pandemic in public schools. If the new guidance results in changes to the Stay to Learn, Work and Play policy, they will share that information on Friday.

The district wanted to stress that if your child is not feeling well, is ill, or has symptoms of an illness, please keep him or her at home.
