NICKERSON, Kan. — The Nickerson USD 309 School Board will give consideration to hiring a new high school football coach during Monday’s meeting.
The board will take action to name Reginald Langford Jr. to head the football program. He replaces John Wellman, whose resignation was accepted during the board's January meeting.
Also on Monday, the board will take action on the class schedule for the high school. Under the proposal, the school day would be divided up into seven class periods starting next school year. The matter has already received support from the teachers as part of the latest negotiated agreement.
Finally, the board will make two technology purchases. One will include 150 laptops for teachers at a cost of $158,850. The other is for 350 Chromebooks for students, which carries a price tag of $98,675.
Monday’s Nickerson USD 309 School Board meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the Reno Valley Middle School.
