HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One in four homes in Kansas test high for radon.

Radon is naturally occurring radioactive gas that cannot be seen or smelled. The only way to know if you are being exposed to it is to test for it. Go to https://www.renogov.org/859/Other-Resources for a link about KDHE's radon program.

Did you know that people who smoke are up to 9 times more likely to develop radon-induced lung cancer than people who have never smoked? Free resources are available for anyone who wants to quit using tobacco products. Visit https://kansas.quitlogix.org/en-US/
