HUTCHINSON, Kan. — ESSDACK will be hosting a Poverty Simulation event on Sept. 28 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at their office at 1500 East 11th.
Up to 250 people can experience what it is like to live in poverty for one month. Each participant will role play a person experiencing survival mode for one month simulation in four, fifteen minute weeks. The results are new understandings of why families on the lower economic scale do the things they do. The simulation is built to be taken into communities and into schools to initiate the paradigm shifts necessary to activate great generational change.
Registration for this event is being paid for by the ARP - HCY Grant, so all participants can attend free. Contact Rebecca Lewis-Pankratz at (620) 663-9566 at ESSDACK for more information.
