
GREAT BEND, Kan. — No. 5 Hutchinson shot out to a 20-point advantage Friday afternoon against Labette at the Cougar Booster Club Classic.
That lead dissipated with 8:04 left as the Dragons (5-0) held on to a 53-51 lead.
Mya Williams scored just two points in the first half before exploding for 19 in the second frame. Her 21 points were second-most for Hutchinson as the Dragons were led by Journey Armstead's 23.
Armstead made good on 4 of 6 three-pointers as she knocked down 8 of her 10 shots overall. She added four assists and three steals.
Labette () got 17 points from starter Janiya Reed and 18 bench points from Nisea Burrell.
Hutchinson closed the game on a 21-12 run to remain perfect on the year.

Hutchinson shot 45.8% from distance and 51.9% overall.
Hutchinson is back in Great Bend Saturday for a 1 p.m. tipoff against Redlands.
