Brannon Paul Curiel, 47, died June 10, 2023, at Kanopolis Lake. He was born December 17, 1975, in Hutchinson, to Lynn Curiel and Melissa (Wagoner) Decoster-Hoffman.

Brannon graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1994. He went on to join the United States Army in 1996, and retired in 2016. Brannon was currently pursing his bachelor degree in art at Wichita State University, he was extremely talented at art of all mediums. He was a guitarist and loved music. Brannon enjoyed the outdoors and all animals, including his dogs, Frank and Chewie, and cat, Tamen. He was always kind and would often go out of his way to help people in need. More than anything Brannon loved his family and adored all of his nieces and nephews.

On May 25, 1996, he married Tabitha Linn Grindstaff, in Hutchinson. They shared 27 years of marriage.

Brannon is survived by: wife, Tabi Curiel; mother, Melissa Decoster-Hoffman (Jerry); father, Lynn Curiel; twin brother, David Curiel; sister, Tiffany Antonio; sister, Shanna Curiel-Davis (Jamie); grandparents, Pete and Ruby Curiel; grandmother, Jane Wagoner; uncle, Steven Curiel (Nellie); aunt, Janie Mclemore (Shawn); uncles, Bob Wagoner (Kathy), Dan Wagoner (Lori); nine nieces and nephews; and six great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: his beloved dog, Mia; grandfather, Lanny Wagoner; and mother-in-law, Jeanie Jensen.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with Father Aaron Spexarth presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and family will be present to receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary. Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday at Elliott Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Hutchinson Art Center or Hutchinson Animal Shelter, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N Main Hutchinson, KS 67501.
