BROWN COUNTY – The Kansas Bureau of Investigation (KBI) arrested a lieutenant with the Brown County Sheriff's Office, Thursday night.

Just after 6:30 p.m., KBI agents coordinated the surrender and arrest of Larry D. Myer, 63, of Lancaster, Kansas, at the Jackson County Jail. Myer was arrested on a warrant for intimidation of a witness or victim, and harassment by telecommunication device. Both are misdemeanor charges.

In January 2026, KBI was requested by the Kickapoo Tribal Police Department to investigate alleged threats and harassment of a tribal officer who ticketed Myer for a traffic violation in December of 2025. Investigative findings were presented to a special prosecutor from the Johnson County District Attorney's Office, who was appointed by Brown County.

Following his arrest, Myer was released on bond.
