BUHLER, Kan. — The Buhler City Council will hold a public hearing on the 2024 budget Tuesday, Aug. 15.

City Clerk Sara Howard said the budget was initially prepared to arrive at the Revenue Neutral Rate. That is the maximum levy without an additional hearing and an additional taxpayer notification.

The total budget is $2,073,403 for City and Rec Commission on $358,451 of ad valorem collections.

The City mill levy is 41.892; with the Recreation Commission at 1.478.

Wages for city employees were increased 5%.

The public hearing is at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Buhler City offices.
