HUTCHINSON, Kan. — As Reno County Commissioners begin the 2024 budget process, County Administrator Randy Partington plans to discuss the Capital Improvement Plan projects with them as part of their meeting on Tuesday.
According to documents provided to commissioners, county agencies plan to ask for $9,465,161 in projects in fiscal 2024, up from the $8,717,745 adopted in 2023.
That difference appears to be in specific requests from rural fire districts in the draft to be shown on Tuesday, as there weren't any adopted in 2023 as part of CIP, but according to those requests, Fire District 4 is planning to request $130,000, Fire District 6 $275,000, Fire District 7 $130,000 and Fire District 9 $350,000.
That's a total of $885,000 in requests. The total increase in requests overall is just $747,416, so the county departments apart from fire are actually asking for less than they did in the current year.
The Board of Reno County Commissioners meets Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the Veterans Room at the Reno County Courthouse.
