HUTCHINSON, Kan. – One of the great traditions for Hutchinson USD 308 is back in full force to kick off the school year.
Hutchinson USD 308 announced Wednesday that the first in-person Convocation since 2019 will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at the Hutchinson Sports Arena from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The event is an annual kick off to the new school year. Due to COVID-19, the last two Convocation events were held virtually.
The Convocation event will feature messages from USD 308 Board of Education President, Greg Meredith, Superintendent Dr. Dawn Johnson, and local partners like HNEA and United Way of Reno County. The highly anticipated announcement of the Davis Foundation Teachers of the Year and the USD 308 Teacher of the Year will also take place during the event.
A new feature of this year’s event is a Resource Fair exclusively for USD 308 staff. Local vendors and organizations will be available to meet with staff members after the event program concludes. Organizations interested in participating can contact the USD 308 Director of Communications, Marissa Meis, at [email protected] for more information.
