Boys and Girls Club
HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Boys and Girls Club has announced their local winner for the 2024 Youth of the Year.
Zion Burgess won the award for the second straight year at the local level. The award was announced at the local event in the Crystal Ballroom at the Burt on Thursday.
The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle.
Burgess receives a $1,000 college scholarship thanks to Heartland Credit Union and will compete in the Kansas Youth of the Year competition in the spring. He was 2nd at the state level in 2023.
