The Haven USD 312 Board of Education has approved Adam McCarthy as the new head principal of Haven Middle School.
The appointment was made during the board's meeting Monday evening.
McCarthy is already a familiar face within the district, having served as the district's activities director and as the 7-12 assistant principal. School officials said his experience in those leadership roles has prepared him to take on the responsibility of leading Haven Middle School.
District leaders praised McCarthy's student-centered approach and commitment to helping students succeed.
"As he transitions into this new leadership role, Mr. McCarthy brings valuable experience, a student-first mindset, and a passion for helping every Wildcat reach their full potential," the district said in announcing the appointment.
The board congratulated McCarthy on his selection and expressed confidence in the future of Haven Middle School under his leadership.
McCarthy will assume the role following the board's approval and will oversee the school's academic and administrative operations as students prepare for the upcoming school year.
