HAVEN, Kan. — The City of Haven had a resignation and a replacement on its City Council at its meeting on Monday.
Council member Sandra Williams resigned as of a Feb. 21 letter, and Ciara Powers was appointed in her place. Her appointment was approved after Austin Borden and Mark Robinson voted in favor, with Christopher Scott and Kylie Rush voting against. Mayor Adam Wright voted in favor, breaking the tie and Powers was sworn in and seated.
Powers term will expire in January 2026.
Williams also served as Council Liaison on Haven's Planning Commission. Mayor Wright decided to take that issue up at the next council meeting. That meeting is March 20.
