HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Fire Department announced that due to the extremely dry conditions we are experiencing, the Hutchinson Fire Department is encouraging no outside burning. This includes burning in fire pits or outdoor fireplaces.
The department says if you do burn, they ask that you do so with an abundance of caution. Do not conduct any kind of fire within 50 feet of a structure and have a garden hose or water supply capable of extinguishing the fire with you at all times.
For all fires not in an outdoor fireplace or fire pit, you must obtain a burn permit from the fire department before any burning.
