Greg Proffitt, 65, passed away Sunday, July 9, 2023 at his home in Haven. He was born August 21, 1957, in Inglewood, CA, to Ralph and Rocena (Barb) Proffitt.
Greg attended Lennox High School in Inglewood, CA. He moved to Kansas in 1980 and worked in construction with his father and uncle, Gene Barb.
Greg loved music, especially playing the drums, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and spending time with his family and friends. He was known to all for having a kind heart and always trying to lend a hand.
Greg is survived by: his brother, Roger Proffitt; closest friend, Cheryl Proffitt; sons, Jeremy (Nicole) Moorman of Granville, IL, and Joshua (Lisa) Proffitt of Haven; daughters, Stephanie (Joel) Turner and ReAnna (Ben) Wolf, both of Wichita, KS; grandchildren, Jared (Blair) Moorman, Kaegan Moorman, Victoria Moorman, Cole Proffitt, Connor Proffitt, Ethan Wolf, and Mattelyn Turner; and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Dane Moorman.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Friends may sign the book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2023, and Thursday, July 13, 2023, at Elliott Mortuary. Cremation has taken place.
