Police: Kan. suspect tried to punch a nurse at the hospital

SALINE COUNTY —Law enforcement are investigating a suspect on multiple allegations after in altercation at a home in Salina.

Just after 9a.m. Tuesday, police responded to the 300 block of S. Broadway in Salina for a disturbance, according to Salina Police Captain James Feldman.

Upon arrival officers made contact with 40-year-old Troy Duncan of Salina. He was identified as the suspect in the disturbance. As officers attempted to speak with Duncan, he became highly agitated and was yelling at the officers.

He refused to comply with officers and threw a bag at an officer. Duncan was taken into custody and placed into a wrap. It was determined Duncan was yelling at a 57-year-old man in the area when he jumped and attacked the man.

A 55-year-old man stepped in between the two to stop Duncan from assaulting the other man. The 55-year-old man was struck by Duncan. He had a minor injury to his face and a hand injury.

Duncan was taken to the hospital to be cleared to go to the jail. While at the hospital Duncan attempted to strike a nurse. Once cleared, Duncan was transported to the Saline County Jail and booked on requested charges that include 2 counts of battery, 1 count of Assault, 1 count of Assault of a Law enforcement officer and 1 count of Battery of a Law enforcement officer and Interference with Law Enforcement.
