Ronald W. Hatchett was born at the Willows Maternity Home in Kansas City, Missouri, October 6, 1941. He died April 27, 2023, following a lengthy battle with heart disease and dementia. Ron was adopted by Mary and Wayne Hatchett when he was four weeks old and grew up in Augusta, KS. Following graduation from Augusta High School, he attended Bethel College where he met his future wife, Marnette Abrahams. They were married in 1964 and had one son, Michael.
Ron worked in manufacturing for the greater part of his career. Seventeen years of that time was for Hesston Corporation. He also worked for Associated Company, in Wichita and owned the Great Plains Loom Company.
Ron is survived by his wife, Marnette; his son, Michael and his wife Melissa; and granddaughters, Madison and Mackenzie. No funeral is planned. A time of fellowship and remembrance will be held June 15, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland Trinity UCC. In lieu of flowers, gifts are requested to Schowalter Villa or the Goessel Community Foundation.
