OSAGE COUNTY —Authorities are working to determine the cause of a fatal fire in rural Osage County.
Just before 3a.m. Tuesday, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting of a house fire in the 2800 block of E 333rd Street, near Melvern, according to Sheriff Chris Wells.
When deputies arrived, they reported the house to be fully involved with fire.
An investigator from the State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested and responded to the scene. After the fire was extinguished, investigators found the body of a woman in the home identified as Debbie L. Booth, 61, of Melvern.
Officials have not released details on what caused the fire.
Osage County Sheriff’s Deputies, Osage County Fire District #3—Melvern, Osage County EMS, and Waverly Fire responded to the scene. Additionally, Osage County Fire Districts #7—Quenemo, #5—Lyndon and Williamsburg Fire were requested and responded to assist.
