Deven Kelly Monaghan, 32, died on January 23, 2023. He was born November 22, 1990, the son of Jack and Kay (Klenke) Monaghan.
Deven graduated from Buhler High School in 2009, and attended Hutchinson Community College. He participated in all sports while in school, but excelled at his favorite sport, golf.
Deven is survived by: his parents; sister, Erin; girlfriend, Vanessa; and children, Scarlett and Wylder.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wilbur and Imogene Klenke and Bill and Marchetta Monaghan.
Private inurnment will take place. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Scarlett and Wylder Monaghan Education Fund, in care of Elliott Mortuary, 1219 N. Main, Hutchinson, KS 67501.
Those that knew Deven were aware of his struggles, especially his struggle with the disease of addiction. But through it all, he was able to maintain a smile that could light up a room. It is that beautiful smile we will remember and truly miss. While we didn’t always agree with the choices Deven made, we find comfort in the fact that his struggles are lifted from his shoulders and he is now at peace.
