In loving memory of our dear Wanda Faye (Sharpe) Jansen, a devoted Registered Nurse whose life touched so many, it is with heavy hearts that we announce her passing on March 20, 2024. Wanda was born on November 2, 1936 in Clyde, Kansas. She touched the lives of all she encountered through her compassionate care and unwavering dedication to nursing.

Throughout her career, Wanda served selflessly in various medical institutions, from the Medical Surgical Wards of hospitals in Colorado to supervising nursing staff at the Axtell Clinic in Newton, Kansas. Her work with various healthcare providers and the American Red Cross Mobile Blood Unit showcased her commitment to healing and caring for others.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Wanda's generosity extended into her community, where she quietly supported those in need and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Her kindness and compassion left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her.

An active member of the First United Methodist Church, Wanda found solace and purpose in her faith, embodying its teachings through her actions and interactions with others.

Wanda Faye was preceded in death by Leslie Jansen; parents, Lena and George Sharpe; brother, Leland Sharpe; and sister, Arlene Couture.

As we reflect upon her life, let us remember Wanda for her warm spirit, unwavering generosity, and boundless love for those around her, especially her dearest close friends and family. Her legacy of compassion and service will continue to inspire us all.

Please join us in celebrating Wanda's life at the upcoming funeral services and ceremonies: A public viewing will be held at Petersen Family Funeral Home on March 25, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place on March 26, 2024, at 10:00 am at First United Methodist Church. Let us come together to pay our last respects and bid farewell to a remarkable soul who touched the lives of many.

Memorial contributions can be made out to the First United Methodist Church and left in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home.
