HUTCHINSON, Kan. — One of two Hutchinson men charged with holding up two convenience stores in January will be in Reno County District Court for a preliminary hearing Tuesday.

Twenty-year-old Kevon Ford faces two counts of aggravated robbery. He also has a drug case and a theft case pending that will also be addressed on Tuesday.

Ford and 21-year-old Trever McDade are accused of the armed hold ups of the 17th and Monroe and the 43rd and Plum Kwik Shop stores. In both cases an armed man using an ice scraper or a hand saw as weapons made off with either money or tobacco products or both.

The two were arrested when officers arrived in the area of 43rd and Plum and located both subjects in a vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier that morning.
