Darrell Richard Halbert, 77, of McPherson, Kansas, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2024, at his residence.
Darrell was born in Little River, Kansas on May 4, 1947, the son of Darrell Vance and Lillian Alma (Langhammer) Halbert.
Darrell attended Windom grade school and graduated from Windom High School.
Through the years Darrell worked for WR Mill, Kansas Dept. of Corrections and Kentucky Dept. of Corrections.
Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, race cars and dirt track racing, car shows and spending time with his friends and family.
Darrell was united in marriage to Evelyn Stevens on August 7,1982 in McPherson. Evelyn died March 3, 2023.
He is survived by his children, Tondra (Robert) Fry of Mansfield, TX, Jacque (Blake) Cutrer of St. Francisville, LA, and Richard T. Halbert of Shreveport, LA; step daughter, Sandy (David) Abell, of Louisville, KY; step son, Craig (Kathy) Stephens of Phoenix, AZ; brothers, Larry Halbert of Medora, KS, Kurt Halbert of Hutchinson, KS, and Alan (Christine) Halbert of Lyons, KS; sister, Ruby (Tony) Navarro of Emporia, KS; and 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Evelyn; and sister, Linda Hutchinson.
Services will be at a later date.
