SALINE COUNTY —Authorities are investigating the cause of a fire at an apartment complex in Salina.
A significant fire occured at the Ridge of Salina apartments on Wednesday afternoon, as the investigation is ongoing within first responders to determine the cause of fire.
The fire occurred in the attic of one of the apartment building at Ridge of Salina apartments, 2363 Chapel Ridge Place, at around 3:00 p.m., according to Salina Fire Department Chief, Shane Pearson.
The interior of the building had significant amounts of smoke and water damage. Supervisor of the apartments, Edwin Rodriguez said nobody was injured and everyone is safe.
"We followed protocol and the maintenance guys did their job," he said. "Thank God nobody was hurt."
Pearson also confirmed there were no reported injuries.
A resident who lives across from the building that was on fire stated they were simply relaxing inside their room, when they looked out of their window and suddenly saw the fire.
That same resident made the call at around 3:00 pm to let first responders know about the fire.
