SHAWNEE COUNTY —One person died in an accident just before 8a.m. Thursday in Shawnee County.
According to Shawnee County Deputy Abigail Christian, a Nissan Versa driven by Ashleigh L. Boyd, 24, Topeka, was eastbound in the 7800 Block of SW 53rd Street.
The car collided head-on with a Ford F150 driven by a 52-year-old man.
Boyd was pronounced dead at the scene. American Medical Response transported an infant passenger in the Nissan and the driver of the pickup to a local hospital.
The accident is still under investigation, according to the Deputy Christian.
