RENO COUNTY, Kan. — The Pressing On Trail Race, a 5K to benefit Victory Village in Reno County is Nov. 4. Jesse Nininger is the organizer of the race along with his wife, Rebecca.

"I've really grown to love the sport of running," Jesse Nininger said. "One of the things that is challenging in it is the cost of races is often prohibitive for a lot of people, I think. I'd like to share my love of the sport by offering a low cost solution, while at the same time recognizing that some people would like to donate towards a good cause, so this works well for me to help Victory Village."

Nininger believes the experience will be a special one for runners from the area.

"We have a lot of connections with it," Nininger said. "They have a beautiful, beautiful trail. Of all the trails I've run in the Hutchinson area, which there's not very many, Victory Village's trails are one of the nicer ones."

Victory Village is one mile east from Avenue G and Buhler/Haven Road, then north to 201 South Victory Road. You can sign up online so that they know how many people will be running. They will have plenty of help to get you around the course.

"We've got friends and family, and then, of course, the staff there at Victory Village," Nininger said. "Some of them will probably help. They are planning a meal afterwards."

The chili and cinnamon roll feed will give runners a chance to learn more about the work at Victory Village, an organization that has been helping young girls for decades. You can find out more at https://www.victoryvillagechristianacademy.org/.
