Land Bank board to go over annual report

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Land Bank Board of Trustees will meet Tuesday afternoon. The 2022 annual report will be the major part of the agenda.

On that report, the Land Bank entered into an agreement on December 6th with New Beginnings for a First Right of Refusal on 3 Land Bank properties: 8th & Walnut, 7th & Maple and 915 East Avenue A.

New Beginnings agreed to maintain the properties until purchased which will save the Land Bank mowing charges and make great in-fill lots for their Tiny Home program.

Also, on December 6th the Land Bank agreed to sell 12 feet of the west boundary of 539 East Ave. A to a neighbor accomplishing that neighbor's goal of a driveway and still leaving approx. 70 feet frontage by 125’ Deep lot for the Land Bank to market for infill housing.

The Hutchinson Land Bank acquired five new properties at the 2022 Reno County Tax Sale on October 21, 2022. Vacant lots on East Ave E, South Elm, East Harvey Street and East Avenue F.

Another corner lot on West Avenue A near the Martinez Trail was purchased by the Land Bank.

The full report will be presented to the board Tuesday at 3p.m. at the Hutchinson City Hall, Executive Conference Room at 125 E. Avenue B.
