BUHLER, Kan. — Buhler Fire showed off the new UTV it received approval for from County Commissioners in photos on social media Tuesday.
A lot of the brush fires that are fought in that area of the county come with the challenge of getting into hard to reach areas that brush trucks can't get to.
New to the Buhler department is the 2023 Can AM Defender bought from Agricenter in South Hutchinson, KS, equipped with a 75 gallon poly tank made by Prairie Poly Mfg out of Pretty Prairie,KS. Commissioners approved the purchase last month for a cost not to exceed $32,000.
Reno County Fire Administrator Travis Vogt said that he intends eventually to have three or four similar apparatus spread throughout the county for those situations.
