
Eugena Ruth “Jeannie” Joy-Findley, 84, died August 9, 2026, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born August 14, 1941, in Hutchinson, to Lewis Jasper and Sibyl Loretta (Evans) Joy.
Known as “Jeannie” to her life-long friends, and “Joy” to her Hutchinson friends, she attended Hutchinson High School and Kansas State University. She graduated from Brown Mackie College in 1979. Jeannie retired as a legal secretary for the State of Kansas, working with Child Support Enforcement in Wichita. She loved cats, playing bingo, reading, music, ice cream and meditating.
On September 8, 1979, she married Stanley Martin Findley, in Hutchinson. He died September 2, 2016.
Jeannie is survived by: daughters, Cydni Washington (Phil) of Junction City and Lisha Collins (Jerry) of Hutchinson; stepchildren, Michael Findley, Gerald Findley, and Sheila Hardman; grandchildren, Luke Sapp, Matthew Sapp, and Jacob Mendenhall; and great-grandchildren, Willow Sapp, Kahlil Sanz-Sapp and Ari Sanz-Sapp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and Cydni and Lisha’s father, Jack Stout.
Celebration of Life service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Elliott Chapel. Private inurnment will take place in Memorial Park Cemetery, Hutchinson. Friends may sign her book from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Elliott Mortuary.
