HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A motion will be on the Hutchinson City Council agenda Tuesday to put the 30th and Lucille intersection back as it was before August of 2019, with no traffic signal.

In August of 2019, the City installed a temporary traffic signal at 30th and Lucille with the intention of removing it upon completion of the 43rd Avenue bridge.

Once the bridge was complete, the City had JEO perform a warrant analysis on August 12, 2022, to make sure that the signal was not warranted at that intersection.

The results from that study showed that it was not warranted, and the signal was removed.

Jim Tobaben discussed the signal warrant analysis and its findings at the last study session on March 7, 2023.

The agenda includes a motion to approve the staff recommendation to follow the results of the warrant analysis as presented by engineers showing traffic signals are not warranted at the 30th and Lucille intersection, no further evaluation should be done; and the remaining temporary signal equipment should be removed.

The Hutchinson City Council meets Tuesday at 9 a.m. at City Hall.
