Art Association still seeking anniversary submissions

Posted Jan 04, 2024 10:00 AM

HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson Art Association was founded in the Spring of 1949.

There was no initial building like the present beautiful Hutchinson Art Center at 405 N. Washington for the first 27 years of its existence.  Membership meetings were held in the members' private homes.

The Association was supported by donations and memorials that allowed it to begin purchasing its own permanent collection. The tradition continues to this day with approximately 300 pieces now in the collection.

To celebrate the 75th anniversary, selections from the Permanent Collection will be on display from June 14th - August 17th in the Main Gallery -- so mark your calendars.

As the association prepares to celebrate this special anniversary, they are asking for help.

Do you have any photographs, memorabilia, or memories of the Hutchinson Art Association and/or Hutchinson Art Center that you would like to share?

Please contact the association via email at [email protected], call us at (620) 663-1081, or send mail to the Hutchinson Art Center at 405 N. Washington St., Hutchinson, KS 67501.
