
NEWTON, Kan. —Two people were injured in a hit-and-run accident Tuesday morning in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a westbound vehicle ran a stop sign on northeast 60th at K-15 two where it struck a southbound car driven by 25-year-old Carlos Javier Damian, of Peabody, then left the scene.
EMS transported Damian and a passenger 26-year-old Joselin Alfaro Espinoza, also of Peabody, to Newton Medical Center.
All occupants in Damian’s vehicle were properly restrained, according to the KHP. The accident happened about 9:30 a.m. two miles north of Newton
