POTTAWATOMIE COUNTY —Friends have established A GoFundMe account to assist the family of a mother killed in a crash near Saint George last week. Her two sons were also in the car at the time of the crash.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2001 Toyota Avalon driven by Tyra A. Anderson, 28, St. George, was eastbound on Military Trail Road just east of Railway Road.
The car left the roadway to the right and struck a tree.
Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene and transported to Frontier Forensics. EMS transported a 1-year-old boy in the car to the hospital in Wamego for treatment of serious injuries, according to the KHP. A 3-year-old boy in the car was not injured. All three were properly restrained, according to the KHP.
Organizers of the fundraiser said they hoped the account would raise enough money to help with meals for the Andersons and take care of unexpected formula costs for the baby.
