HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Hutchinson City Council will take action on two Public Works projects during its meeting on Tuesday. The first is approval of a bid for some drainage repairs along East Avenue E near fire station 3. The bid the council will be asked to approve comes from Procon Construction at $193,770. Three other bids were submitted.
The project will include improved curb and gutter around the fire station and repairs to the road in front of the station to prevent standing water.
The other project is the bicycle boulevard along Washington Street. The city is getting KDOT funds to help pay for the project, which includes making repairs and resurfacing Washington Street from 17th north to where the pavement starts in Hyde Park. The street from 17th to 27th will then be designated a bike boulevard and marked as such. The city’s share of the project is around $93,000. Total cost of the project is $479,350.
Tuesday’s city council meeting begins at 9 a.m. at the Hutchinson city offices.
