
Micaela Garcia, 93, died November 15, 2025, at Hospice House, Hutchinson. She was born September 6, 1932, in Hutchinson, to Manuel G. and Catherine “Katie” (Lopez) Curiel, Sr.
Micaela was a simple woman, with her faith and family paramount in her life. She was a beautiful seamstress, gifted listener, and accepting. Micaela served as a prayer warrior, praying and loving her family and friends unconditionally. She was a life-time member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Altar Society.
On November 25, 1949, she married Raymond “Ray” Garcia. He died October 8, 2000, after sharing over 50 years of marriage.
Micaela is survived by: her children, Cynthia Hernandez (Ray), Janet Delgado, Victor Garcia, Greg Garcia (Jeanie), all of Hutchinson, and Eugene Garcia of Peck, Ks; step-son, Brad Brack (Rae Ann) of Great Bend; brothers, Severo Curiel, Pete Curiel (Ruby) and Rudy Curiel (Shirley); sisters, Carmen Vieyra, Mary Colby, Linda Pina and Juanita Brown (Ralph); 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, Richard Curiel, Johnny Curiel, Manuel Curiel, Jr., and Eddie Curiel; sister, Angel Curiel; granddaughters, Elizabeth “Bizzie” Delgado and Angel Renee Delgado; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Marie Mora.
Parish Rosary will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 612 S. Maple, South Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 21, 2025, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. (prior to and following the Parish Rosary) Thursday at the church.
