
HARVEY COUNTY —A Kansas teen died in an accident just after 1p.m. Friday in Harvey County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2007 Honda Accord driven by Lillyan Grace Koehn, 19, Wichita, was southbound on Kansas 15 just south of NW 60th Street.
The Honda left the roadway briefly to the right. The driver over corrected to the left and entered a broadside skid.
When the Honda entered its lane, a northbound 2016 Ford Escape driven by Katherine Marie Unruh, 40, Newton, made an avoidance maneuver and left the roadway to the right. Both vehicles collided in the east ditch.
Koehn was pronounced dead at the scene. EMS transported Unruh to Newton Medical Center. Both drivers were properly restrained, according to the KHP.

HARVEY COUNTY, Kan. — One person is dead following a two-vehicle accident in northern Harvey County the afternoon of March 10.
Preliminary information shows a car was traveling southbound on K-15 between Northeast 48th and 60th streets when it crossed the center line into the northbound lane. An SUV, traveling north, attempted to maneuver to avoid the car. The SUV collided with the side of the car as they entered the east ditch.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the accident at 1:09 p.m.
The driver of the southbound car, a female in her teens, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver’s name has not been released pending notification of family.
The driver of the northbound SUV, a female in her 40s, was transported by EMS to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
There were no passengers in either vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation.
