HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The number of COVID cases continues to fall in Reno County. As of Monday morning, the number of current COVID cases stands at 396. That’s down from 419 cases on Dec. 21 and the 574 cases at this time last year.
The number of overall cases increased from 12,827 Dec. 21 to 12,934 as of Monday. With five days left in the year, there have been 6,396 cases of COVID in 2021. There were 6,538 cases at the end of 2020.
How far along the county is into the latest variant of the virus remains to be seen at this time, but the county did not see the sudden spike in cases during Thanksgiving this year as it did in 2020.
As of Monday, 184 Reno County residents have died of COVID.
