Kyle Quentin Zumalt |1941-2022|

Kyle Quentin Zumalt, 81, of South Hutchinson, passed away December 7, 2022, at his home. He was born April 5, 1941, in Hutchinson, the second of four children born to Charles and Berniece (Stout) Zumalt.

Kyle attended Lincoln Elementary School, Sherman Jr. High School, and graduated from Hutchinson High School. He worked for 34 years at the South Hutchinson Foodliner and retired after 16 years as a custodian in the Vo. Tech. building of Hutchinson High School.

Kyle was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Eva Osborn.

He is survived by: his wife of 62 years, Karen; son, Mark Zumalt and wife Marla of Overland Park; daughter, Tonja Stamm and husband Mike of Kingman; son, Keith Zumalt and wife Betty of rural Nickerson; grandchildren, Maleah Zumalt of Overland Park, Taten Stamm and wife Sheila of Kansas City, KS, Kaitlynn and Dillon Burnett of Kingman, Megan, Mauri, Mandy, and Quentin Zumalt of rural Nickerson; great-granddaughter, Allison Burnett; sisters, Wanda McClellan and family of Wichita; Connie Taylor and husband Don and family in Missouri; brothers-in-law, Gary Howard and family of South Hutchinson and Frank Wolf and family of South Hutchinson.

Cremation has taken place. At Kyle’s request no funeral or public memorial service will be held. Instead, there will be a small gathering of close family.
