
Richard D. Kennedy, 80, of Hutchinson, died July 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by love. He was born April 17, 1945, in Tulia, Texas, to Charles and Inabelle (Petty) Kennedy.
Richard graduated from Happy High School in 1963 and attended Texas Tech University. He worked as a financial advisor and retired after many years from Iroquis Center in Greensburg.
On March 24, 1979, he married Victoria Halpain, in Perryton, Texas. They shared 46 beautiful years of marriage before his death.
Richard was well known for his good-natured heart and boundless kindness. He loved God and his faith was visible to all who met him. Richard enjoyed spending time outdoors. He was an avid hunter, fisher, and golfer. Above all, Richard loved to spend time with his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by: beloved wife, Vickie Kennedy of Hutchinson, KS; children, Teffany Kennedy of Talent, OR, Randy (Becky) Kennedy of Canyon, TX, Michele (Tony) Clark of Hays, KS, Chad Kennedy of Columbia, MO, John (Jennifer) Kennedy of Hutchinson, KS, and Michael (Shannon) Kennedy of Shawnee, KS; brother, Robert (Carole) Kennedy of Fredericksburg, TX; and 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Inabelle Kennedy.
Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Friday, August 1, 2025, at CrossPoint Church, 1410 E. 30th Ave, Hutchinson, with Pastor Joel Reiss officiating. Friends may sign his book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at Elliott Mortuary.
