Reno County Sheriff's Office requesting help in theft cases

RENO COUNTY, Kan. — The Reno County Sheriff’s Office is requesting public help and information in at least two theft cases.  

On March 7, at approximately 8 a.m., Reno County deputies were dispatched to a rural property on North Langdon Road close to the Reno/Rice County line for a burglary that occurred sometime overnight.  

Through investigation, it was discovered that approximately $50,000 to $60,000 worth of tools and miscellaneous equipment was stolen from several outbuildings. Among the items stolen were various Snap-On brand hand tools with the number “8” etched into them, as well as power tools, and four catalytic converters. 

On Feb. 28, deputies were dispatched to an address on West 17 Ave. just West of Hutchinson for a burglary that occurred sometime between Feb. 26 and Feb. 28.  

During the burglary a 1995 yellow Suzuki RM250 dirt bike with the number “41” on the handlebars was stolen. 

People with information are asked to contact the Reno County Sheriff’s Office at (620) 694-2735. Reference case number 2023-2216 for the March 7 theft and reference case number 2023-1912 for the dirt bike.
