Randy Lynn Seymour, 75, passed away at Legend of Hutchinson, KS, on May 13, 2024, after a very brave battle with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. She was born August 1, 1948. The daughter of Howard Lee Bontrager and Clora Marie (Yarberry) Bontrager, Randy attended Hutchinson schools and walked with the class of 1966 at Hutchinson High School.
Randy worked at Jackson’s Dairy as a lab technician for 39 years, retiring at the end of 2017. She also created and owned a candle business called Wix & Wax out of her home for many years.
Randy never met a stranger. She enjoyed traveling with friends throughout the United States and making new acquaintances along the way, many of whom would become lifelong friends. Randy had an infectious laugh, a beautiful smile, and was loved by many.
Randy is survived by: her children, Monica Marie Loutzenhiser of Hutchinson, KS, and Rule Alan Seymour, Jr. of Topeka, KS; brother, Greg Bontrager of Hutchinson, KS; grandchildren, Dawn (Brandon Tipton) Becker, Kelby (Danielle Green) Becker, Makayla (Jacob) Ice, Christopher Reger, Matthew Reger, Lindsey (Quinten Cook) Reger, and Madison Seymour; ten great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Chain; nieces, Melissa Schwefel and Rebecca Chain; dearest and best friend, Connie (Steve) Brodine of Hawthorne, CA; and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; daughter, Tricia Lynn Seymour; and sister, Pamela J. Chain.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary Chapel. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Burial Park, Hutchinson, KS. Friends may call from 1p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 17, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2024, and from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May, 19, 2024. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 19, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.
