HUTCHINSON, Kan. — City Beverage presented the Reno County Food Bank with a check as part of their Cases for a Cause campaign on Thursday.
"The latest one we did was a Bud Light program," said Chris Welsh with City Beverage. "We set aside 50 cents for every 30 pack of Bud Light in the months of July, August and September. We set aside $10 for every keg of Bud Light we sold during those same months."
The total donations from that program were:
- Food Bank of Reno County = $5,295.00
- Kansas Food Bank = $ 2,293.00
- McPherson County Food Bank = $1,312.00
- Agape Resource Center = $1,839.00
- Total = $10,739.00
This is in addition to other programs throughout the year that include:
Michelob Ultra Cases For A Cause – Animal Shelter Program May/June Sales:
- Hutchinson Animal Shelter = $1,935.00
- McPherson County Animal Shelter = $1101.00
- Caring Hands Animal Shelter (Newton) = $846.00
- Pratt Area Humane Society = $1,195.00
- Total = $5,077.00
Busch Light For The Farmers – Farm Rescue Program from June/July sales:
- Kansas Farm Rescue = $5,471.00
Budweiser Folds of Honor Program August on premise sales:

The goal is to get the money in the hands of the food banks during one of their busiest times of year.
"Times being tough right now, the economy's not great," Welsh said. "We wanted to help this year. The overwhelming response from them has been absolutely wonderful. We're very humbled and thankful for our participation in it."
