The Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum featuring individuals running in contested races for the Kansas House of Representatives and the Reno County Commission.
The public forum will include candidates in three contested races:
- Kansas House District 102: Incumbent Kyler Sweely and challenger Tyson Thrall
- Kansas House District 101: Kevin O'Brien and Casey Slaughter
- Reno County Commission District 1: Dawn Varney and Mike Sullivan

The forum will be moderated by Hutchinson/Reno County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Debra Teufel.
Each candidate will have an opportunity to deliver opening and closing statements, answer questions during a moderated question-and-answer session, and offer rebuttals when appropriate.
Audience participation will also be included, with a limited number of questions accepted during the event. Community members who would like to submit questions in advance may email jenniferw@hutchchamber.com.

The forum will be held on Wednesday, July 8 at the Stringer Fine Arts Center. It begins at 6 p.m.
