HUTCHINSON, Kan. —Superior Boiler has started production in their new facility. A small group from Richmond Virginia as well as a small local workforce began to manufacture the product line that is being moved to Hutchinson.
The move will be a slow one with equipment and personnel being brought in over time. The company hopes to have an official ribbon cutting on September 1.
The new facility, which measures 73,000 square feet, is located in the old Mega Manufacturing building just west of the current Superior facility.
The company announced in March of 2020 that it would relocate the Richmond facility which produces water tube boilers and was part of the purchase of English Boiler LLC in 2016.
At full strength, the new facility will employ about 50 new workers over the next three to five years.
