Scott Curtis Barnett, 68, of Hutchinson, died February 26, 2024, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born July 19, 1955, in Hutchinson, to Clarence Harvey “Jack” and Bonnie Lou (Base) Barnett.
Scott graduated from Hutchinson High School. He worked as a production laborer for Kansas Oxygen, now known as Airgas, for 33 years. He then went on to work as a custodian for Faris Elementary School.
Scott enjoyed gardening, watching sports, and coaching baseball and softball. He loved camping, fishing, and having cookouts, especially when it was with his family. More than anything, Scott treasured his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Scott is survived by: his children, Josh (Nicole) Barnett, Andrew Barnett, Brittany Barnett all of Hutchinson; ex-wife, Jody Barnett of Hutchinson; grandchildren, Gavin Barnett- Barr, Jordyn Barnett, Dexton Barnett, Colin Barnett, Avery Black all of Hutchinson; brothers, Richard (Melyn) Barnett, Brian (Dorothy) Barnett both of Hutchinson; sister, Kathy Heinlein of Goddard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2024, at Elliott Chapel. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, 5905 W. 4th Ave., Hutchinson.
Friends may sign his memorial book from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2024, with family present to receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Elliott Mortuary.
