Kirk Alan Zongker, 64, of Buhler, died November 9, 2025, at Sunshine Meadows Retirement Community. He was born January 21, 1961, in Ulysses, to Elven K. and Dororthy M. (Kelley) Zongker.

Kirk graduated from Coldwater High School in 1979 and from Seward County Community College in 1981. He was an agent with Kansas Life Insurance for 17 years before the decline of his health forced him to retire. Kirk was a member of Church of the Holy Cross, Hutchinson, and Knights of Columbus Council #7279. He was a leader in Reno County 4-H and his hobbies were anything that his children were doing.

On May 30, 1981, Kirk married Kathryn L. “Kathy” Kasel, in Harper. She survives.

Also surviving are: his children, Sarah Snider (Preston) of Buhler, Adam Zongker (Jessica) of Hutchinson, Molly Williamson (Pippin) of Hutchinson, Luke Zongker (Jessica) of McPherson, Grace Wiens (Lane) of Topeka, Faith Zongker of Lafayette, IN; 14 grandchildren; siblings, Randall Zongker (Susan) of Charlotte, NC, Debra Erxleben of Orlando, FL, Shana Burgess (Jesse) of Lyons; and many extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Parish Rosary will be 6 p.m. Thursday, November 13, 2025, at Church of the Holy Cross, 2631 Independence Rd., Hutchinson. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2025, at Church of the Holy Cross. Burial will follow in Buhler Municipal Cemetery East.

Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday at Elliott Mortuary. The family will receive friends following the Rosary at the church.
