Karin Elaine Swysgood, 56, of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2026, gone far too soon.
Karin had a gift for making people feel at home, especially through her love of cooking. She didn't just cook for herself - she cooked to bring people together, to show love, to make someone's day a little brighter.
She cherished time spent with her niece Amanda and nephew Tyler, creating memories that they'll carry with them always. Those who knew Karin knew she was sweet-hearted and generous, but also delightfully stubborn when she'd made up her mind about something. Her greatest love, though, was reserved for her dogs - Jinkers, Eevee, and Harv - who were her constant companions and brought her endless joy.
She is survived by her mother, Marge Swysgood; her brothers Kevin of Hutchinson, Kansas, David (Diane)Swysgood, and Daniel (Elizabeth) Swysgood; her niece Amanda Swysgood; her nephew Tyler Swysgood; and numerous other family members and loved ones who will miss her deeply.
A memorial service will be held this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Reno County CASA.
