HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The United Way of Reno County will be publicizing the results of the K-State survey of childcare needs in the coming weeks.

"We were presented those results on Monday from K-State," said Lisa Gleason with the United Way of Reno County. "We will be starting to roll that information out to the community over the next three to four weeks."

The intent is to decide how to leverage local and state funding sources and American Rescue Plan Act funds in the best way to help children in Reno County succeed.

"Helping the community be able to respond and figure out how we're going to react," Gleason said. "What are we going to do with this information? How are we going to be innovative? How are we going to be supportive of an agency, or childcare itself in our community to really help change the model and see how we can make giving back to kids important in our community."

Full disclosure, the Schmidt Foundation, funded by the founders of Eagle Media, provided a funding source for the survey.
